Annual PG&E Ditch Outage

Water Conservation Requested

The Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) Main Canal that conveys 95% of Tuolumne Utilities District’s (TUD) drinking water supply will be shut down for PG&E’s annual maintenance from Sunday, October 11th through Sunday, October 18th, 2026.

During this temporary water interruption, TUD is asking all water customers to please limit water use during this timeframe.

How this may effect you? Without water flowing in the ditches, the only water available is what remains in storage tanks and from limited groundwater wells.  Conservation during this period will help provide adequate water supply for drinking, sanitary usage and fire protection.

Click the Water Treatment Plant Map below to see how water travels from the ditch system to the TUD Water Treatment Plant in your neighborhood and then to your home.

Ways to Reduce Your Water Use:

  • Limit outside watering
  • Do not wash vehicles
  • Turn off automatic lawn and drip sprinkler timers

Repair water leaks

Please continue to conserve water one week after the water outage in order for water storage to recover. To view the Ditch Outage Schedule, visit: https://tudwater.com
